Rooted in Jesus
Faith is part of our ordinary days and woven into our core subjects, from morning gatherings to Bible time to the way we learn history and science. Jesus is the foundation, not an add-on.
A small school with a big heart, started by two families who would not settle.
We did not plan to start a school. Our children attended a Christian Montessori school we loved, until its campus closed abruptly, just four months before the school year was set to begin. The nearest option was 40 miles away. That drive was not going to work for our families, and we knew we were not alone.
So we built the school we wished still existed. Cathy, the lead Lower Elementary teacher at that school and a public school teacher for 17 years before that, wanted to keep teaching the children she loved. Kirsten wanted those families, and new ones, to have a place close to home.
Together we founded Southbridge Christian Montessori. We felt called to serve the families in our own community, and that calling still shapes every decision we make. Small classrooms. Real relationships. Faith at the center. Children who love coming to school.

We nurture curious, capable children in a Christ-centered Montessori community where every student is known and loved.
We are building a school where a strong foundation of faith, friendship, and independence lasts a lifetime. Today that means kindergarten through sixth grade. We will grow with our students into the middle school years in the 27-28 school year. And as we grow, we will stay small enough that every child is known.
Faith is part of our ordinary days and woven into our core subjects, from morning gatherings to Bible time to the way we learn history and science. Jesus is the foundation, not an add-on.
Our classrooms are built on the classic Montessori materials Maria Montessori developed over 100 years ago. Where a different tool serves a child better, our teachers choose it deliberately, drawing on years of classroom experience. Every educational decision here is intentional.
The environment is ready before the child arrives: child-sized, beautiful, and ordered through a child's eyes. Wherever your student arrives, the classroom meets them exactly there.
No. You do not need to be a Christian family to attend Southbridge. Your child will absolutely learn about Jesus and Christianity here, and families who are still exploring faith are warmly welcome.
Read our full Statement of FaithAt Southbridge Christian Montessori, we're a community of believers who love Jesus and seek to honor Him in all we do. While we welcome families from many Christian backgrounds and are not tied to any specific denomination, we're united by these foundational truths:
We believe the Bible is God's Word to us: our guide for faith and how we live. We believe in one God who exists as three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We believe God is the Creator of heaven and earth. He created man and woman in His image.
We believe Jesus is God's Son, born of the Virgin Mary. He lived without sin, was crucified for us, died, was buried, and rose again three days later. He ascended to heaven and is coming back one day.
We believe that everyone who accepts Jesus Christ as their Savior receives the gift of eternal life through faith in Him.

We exist to partner with Christian families, creating a nurturing space where children can grow spiritually, academically, and developmentally, all while experiencing God's love and learning to walk with Him. While Southbridge is a Christ-centered school, families do not need to be Christian to enroll. We warmly welcome children from all backgrounds. We want parents to know that all students will be fully involved in learning about Jesus and the Bible as an integral part of our daily program.
